To clean the ceramic burners of the GE JBS86SPSS stove, you will need ceramic cooktop cleaner. Here are the steps to clean the burners: 1. Allow the cooktop to cool. 2. Spread a few drops of ceramic cooktop cleaner on the entire burned residue area. 3. Using a non-scratch cleaning pad for ceramic cooktops, rub the residue area, applying pressure as needed. 4. If any residue remains, repeat the previous step as needed. 5. For additional protection, after all residue has been removed, polish the entire surface with ceramic cooktop cleaner and a paper towel.

Why does smoke come out from the top of stove (under off/on knobs) when using the lower oven?

When smoke comes out from the top of the stove (under the off/on knobs) when using the lower oven of the GE JBS86SPSS stove, it could be due to a few reasons. Here are some steps you can take to address the issue: 1. Check for any food debris or spills: Make sure there are no food debris or spills on the heating elements or inside the oven. Clean any residue that may be causing the smoke. 2. Verify proper ventilation: Ensure that the oven vent is not blocked and that there is proper airflow around the stove. Blocked vents can cause smoke to accumulate and escape from the top of the stove. 3. Adjust cooking settings: If you are using high heat settings or cooking at a high temperature, try reducing the heat or temperature to see if it reduces the smoke. Excessive heat can cause food or grease to burn and produce smoke. 4. Use the correct cookware: Ensure that you are using cookware that is suitable for the stove and oven. Incompatible cookware or using cookware with a damaged bottom can lead to uneven heating and smoke. 5. Avoid excessive grease or oil: If you are cooking with oil or grease, make sure you are using the appropriate amount. Excessive grease or oil can drip onto the heating elements and cause smoke.

What can I clean my interior oven with safely. The stem cleaner is worthless, unless I’m doing something wrong. It doesn’t even get hot

I did this as well and this function is garbage. 1 cup or even a half a cup of water doesn't even evaporate to create steam.
