Super Mario RPG Remake introduced a lot of post game content that you need to complete to get a 100 percent clear. Read on to learn all the postgame content and unlockables, and all activities that you can do to get a 100% clear.
Boss Rematches
Sound Player
Play Report
All . Names in the Monster List Unlocked
One of the major changes introduced in the remake is the post-game content of rematching certain bosses. These bosses will be powered up in the rematch, making them much more difficult to defeat!
To start being able to rematch bosses, finish the game story first by defeating the final boss. Watch the credits, and upon starting the post-game content, go to the Marrymore Hotel and sleep there. Go to Star Hill afterwards and find the new wishes, then talk to Frog Sage at Tadpole Pond, who will tell you about the first boss that can be rematched.
Boss | Reward |
---|---|
Scratchy-Throat Belome | Sage Stick |
Leveled-Up Punchinello | Wonder Chomp |
Engine 023 Booster | Stella 023 |
Extra-Fancy Bundt & Extra-Fancy Raspberry | Enduring Brooch |
Duel-Ready Johnny | Extra-Shiny Stone |
Culex 3D | Crystal Shard |
All rematchable bosses have to be fought at a specific order; you can't rematch Punchinello if you haven't rematched Belome yet, for example. Just return to the Frog Sage every time you rematch a boss to find out who the next boss is.
The first four rewards are the strongest equipment that the characters can equip in their respective categories. All the characters, except Mario, have an equipment reward specific to them.
The Sound Player is a new feature that lets you listen between tracks from the original game, as well as newly-arranged tracks all composed by returning composer, Yoko Shimomura!
To unlock, simply defeat the game; the notification of you unlocking the Sound Player will pop up after starting the post-game. You can then view the Sound Player through your Journal.
Sound Player and How to Unlock
The Play Report is another feature unlocked upon defeating the game. This allows you to check your various records in the game, including battle records and minigame records.
This feature is extremely useful to doing a 100% Clear, since it shows you various information such as the amount of Hidden Treasures that you still have to unlock or the maximum consecutive Super Jumps that you have performed.
Along with the other features, another thing that happens upon starting the post-game is all . names in the Monster List now being unlocked for viewing. This allows you to view the monsters that you have missed!

List of All Side Quests
Throughout the game, there are a lot of minigames to play, each with various rewards to collect.
You'll be able to get gold medals if you beat high scores or reach record time while playing minigames. You can check if you've obtained these gold medals in the Play Report.
The maximum level that a character can have is 30. Farm experience to reach this level to get the highest stats that you can attain!
What is the Max Level?
The strongest weapons and accessories are also the hardest to obtain, with some hidden under difficult unlock conditions.
An example of this is the Super Suit, an extremely powerful item that greatly boosts all stats and prevents status ailments. To get it though, you need to do 100 consecutive Timed Hits in one Super Jump, a very difficult achievement!
In the Sound Player that you unlock upon starting the post-game, you'll find that some music might still not be filled up. Explore around the world to find music until you can listen to them all in the Sound Player!
There are a couple of secret bosses in the game that you might have missed: Jinx and Culex. Defeating them is not necessary to progress to the game and get through the ending, but is a must if you want to get 100% clear.
Some of the bosses can be fought again, with them being powered-up in the rematch. Defeat all the rematchable bosses in their higher difficulty to get the 100% clear!
Culex 3D is the last boss you can rematch; after you defeat him, the Frog Sage will starty calling you 'Mario Sage'.
Once you've checked off every entry in the Monster List, you will receive a Monster Trophy, which you can check out under Special Items in your inventory.
You can use the Monster List to check any monsters you might have missed throughout the game.
If you think that you have 100% cleared the game, confirm it in the Play Report in your Journal. Make sure that there are no more . or incomplete records, and that you have all the gold medals in all the minigames in the Minigames Records and Casino Records!
